It's that time of year again - for snow boots, winter jackets, and of course, ugly sweaters! YNPN Twin Cities invites you to attend The Annual Ugly Sweater Happy Hour at the Red Stag. Prizes will be awarded, so give it your best and ugliest shot!

What better way to usher in the holidays than with an Ugly Holiday Sweater Happy Hour with YNPN-TC! 
Join your fellow YNPN-TC members at the hip NE Minneapolis restaurant Red Stag to discuss 2014, compare ugly sweaters and more! And don't forget to come prepared to compete with your own ugly sweater.
This year we will have four categories to compete in the for best sweater: 
  • "Cutest" ugly holiday sweater
  • Best DIY-project sweater
  • Most "glitter and glam" sweater 
  • and Overall "ugliest" holiday sweater
Category winners will receive awesome (and hilarious) White Elephant gifts, and bragging rights, of course!

Nexus Community Partners invites you to participate tonight in the next installment of their their Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI) Thursday Night Issue Series. At issue is Equitable Neighborhood Change, to be discussed by local leaders working to advance equitable development in Twin Cities neighborhoods. See below for more details and to register!

    As part of the Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI), Nexus hosts five Thursday Night Issue Series to bring together dynamic, collaborative, cross-sector events designed to build shared knowledge on broader equity issues in the Twin Cities. The BCLI is a 7-month leadership program that trains, supports and places people of color and other underrepresented community members on city boards and commissions to advance a regional equity agenda.     2014 Un/Conference Content Curation | Trista Harris - Keynote: "The Future Started Yesterday"

    The Minnesota Rising 2014 Un/Conference: The Future Is How was held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10:00AM – 4:30PM at DLR Group offices in Minneapolis, MN. Hosted by and for emerging leaders, the Un/Conference engaged emerging leaders across Minnesota in an energizing day of innovative learning and dialogue, skill-building, and network-building with their peers!

    Minnesota Rising is pleased to feature content as well as continued opportunities to learn from our insightful and engaging breakout session speakers. In our Content Curation series, we highlight the ideas of and ways to connect with our 2014 Un/Conference presenters! See Trista Harris' opening keynote, "The Future Started Yesterday," below.     The economic development group Greater MSP has launched a new campaign to recruit and retain top talent as a skilled workforce shortage looms on the horizon for the Twin Cities region. The region has about 55,000 job openings and about 100,000 people looking for work in the state, said Greater MSP CEO Michael Langley. The challenge, however, is that the people looking for work don't have the skills needed for those spots. [Read more.]

Close your eyes and create a mental image of that professional. At the Minnesota Rising 2014 Un/Conference on Saturday, November 15th at DLR Group in downtown Minneapolis, this is exactly what an inspired group of attendees did.
