[Minnesota Rising Dispatch] August 2015

[#mnrising Dispatch] August 2015

Our blog may have been on summer vacation this month, but rest assured Minnesota Rising was road tripping and field tripping all August long! Our Greater Minnesota Rising project team hosted focus groups to explore attracting, retaining, and engaging emerging leaders in Saint Paul, Alexandria, Nisswa, and Brainerd; we continued working with the Make It. MSP. Makers on efforts to improve social inclusion in GREATER MSP, and a crew of #mnrising leaders participated in the Bdote Field Trip to learn more about Dakota history in order to more meaningfully, conscientiously, and respectfully work to impact Minnesota's future. Join us at our upcoming Sounding Board Session at the picnic tables near Sandcastle at Lake Nokomis on September 14th to soak up more of the great outdoors and help us prepare to transition into the next season of learning and growth for the #mnrising network!

Fellows will be employed by MCF and placed in full-time positions at host foundations. Over the course of a three-year appointment, Fellows will receive significant professional development and networking opportunities. Applications are due by September 9. [Read more.]

Hand-in-Glove 2015

Works Progress

Common Field, Works Progress Studio, and The Soap Factory invite you to join the third Hand-in-Glove convening, an itinerant gathering created by and for practitioners in the field of alternative art spaces, projects and organizations. Over four days in Minneapolis-St. Paul we will investigate the contexts and conditions of artist-led culture across the country, exploring existing and emerging structures of support, and deepening peer relationships. Common Field, a new network for visual arts organizations and organizers, will officially launch at Hand-in-Glove 2015, celebrating the public opening of its webspace and membership. We are excited to announce that one free Common Field membership is included with your ticket to Hand-in-Glove 2015! [Read more.]
