[Minnesota Rising Dispatch] February 2019

[#mnrising Dispatch] February 2019

Despite it being the shortest month, February has been full to overflowing. There were numerous opportunities to celebrate Black History Month throughout the past 28 days and there are multiple ways to continue to learnabout and support local African American culture and community all year long. This month ushered in the Year of the Pig as the Lunar New Year kicked off on February 5. And of course, we set the record for the snowiest February in Minnesota history, with more than a foot of snow falling in the Twin Cities since the record was broken earlier this month. As we keep count of the snowfall as well as one another, we can start to staff up for the 2020 Census and nominate our colleagues and co-conspirators for the 2019 Nonprofit Leadership Awards. Thanks for your work to help surface and support other leaders with these submissions, and may coming together to overcome the record-breaking levels of snow bring out the best in all of us!
