You're Invited: Teaching through storytelling with Said Salah Ahmed

Have talents to teach or stories you're looking to share? Join Said Salah Ahmed, a tpt MN Original artist, at the Minnesota Humanities Center to learn about "Teaching through Storytelling" and the art of oral literature and performance. Admission also gets you a copy of Qayb Libaax/The Lion's Share and a DVD copy of the MN Original episode #307 featuring Ahmed!

Teaching Through Storytelling: An Evening with Said Salah Ahmed

Spend the evening with Somali educator, poet, storyteller playwright, and filmmaker Said Salah Ahmed. Come gather at the "Ardaa" before the evening starts as Ahmed illustrates the role of storytelling in non-formal and formal classroom settings, as well as explains how to teach through the art of oral literature and performance.

Participants will leave the event with a copy of Qayb Libaax/The Lion's Share, a DVD copy of the MN Original episode #307 featuring Ahmed, and the corresponding educator guides.

Cost: $10 per person

At each event an artist from Twin Cities Public Television's award-winning weekly series MN Original will engage participants in an interactive discussion reflective of the artist's work.
