2014 Network Partner Notes | Young Professionals in Energy Minneapolis

The Minnesota Rising 2014 Un/Conference: The Future Is How will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10:00AM – 4:30PM at DLR Group offices in Minneapolis, MN. Hosted by and for emerging leaders, the Un/Conference will engage emerging leaders across Minnesota in an energizing day of innovative learning and dialogue, skill-building, and network-building with their peers!

Minnesota Rising is pleased to collaborate with Network Partners, emerging leader groups, in order to cross-promote our parallel efforts to provide leadership development and community-building. Kevin MarquardtFounder & President
Kevin Marquardt is a Regulatory Analyst at CenterPoint Energy. CenterPoint Energy is a Fortune 500 company that serves over 5 million metered customers across six states. Kevin is responsible for calculating and setting rates for customers in Minnesota, providing regulatory assistance and expertise, filing monthly and annual reports to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, reviewing capital budget expenditures, supporting rate case documentation, reviewing bill and website development, and addressing data sharing and privacy risks. 
Kevin received a Masters of Science from the University of Minnesota in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy. Before his masters degree, he received two degrees from Iowa State University in Environmental Studies and Psychology.

Raihan IraniBoard Member
Raihan Irani is a Substation Engineer at Xcel Energy.  Xcel Energy is a major US electric and natural gas company based in Minneapolis. Prior to joining Xcel, Raihan worked as an Energy Management System Engineer for the Western Electricity Coordinating Council in Vancouver, WA. He was responsible for analyzing and implementing changes to the bulk electricity grid in the western US. Following this he worked at a residential solar startup in Los Angeles providing technical and operational support to the Vice President. 
Raihan received a Masters in Engineering Management from University of Southern California and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and Economics from the University of Washington.

JP SinghBoard Member
JP Singh is Global Marketing Manager at Cummins Power Generation. Cummins is fortune 200 company based in Columbus, Indiana and JP leads product marketing for telecommunication vertical from Cummins Minneapolis Office. In his 12+ year in career in energy industry, JP has held various business and technical leadership roles at companies in India, Korea and US. He received his MBA from University of Texas at Austin and Bachelors of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology.

George HoffmannBoard Member
George Hoffmann is a Project Manager at Flint Hills Resources.  Flint Hills Resources is a Koch company engaged in refining, chemicals and biofuels.  Prior to joining Flint Hills, George worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the Project Development and Finance Group evaluating projects involving every form of renewable energy.
 
George received an MBA and Masters in Finance from Indiana University and a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University.

 Julia EaglesBoard Member
Julia Eagles is a Regulatory Policy Specialist at Xcel Energy, a natural gas and electricity utility company in Minneapolis. In that role Julia works on resource planning, compiling information for regulatory documents, and preparing comments on state energy policy. Before joining Xcel Energy in August of 2014, she spent 8 years working for several local energy and environmental organizations- including Youth Farm and Market Project, the Phillips Community Energy Cooperative, and the Clean Energy Resource Teams. While in graduate school, she was involved in a research project looking at smart grid policy in various regions in the United States, focusing on the role of Regional Transmission Organizations. She also worked in the City of Minneapolis Sustainability Office, assisting with the implementation and documentation of their Climate Action Plan.

Julia received a Masters in Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, with a focus on energy and environmental policy, and a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from Macalester College in St. Paul. In her free time she enjoys biking, cross country skiing, taking trips to the Boundary Waters and other beautiful locations, playing broomball, and growing, cooking and eating good food.
