[Minnesota Rising Dispatch] May 2019

[#mnrising Dispatch] May 2019

Happy 10 years of Minnesota Rising! It was a decade ago this month that the first blog post went live on onMinnesotaRising.org and the work began to explore this question of how to build relationships, trust, and a shared vision for Minnesota, and develop the collective capacity of the rising generation to impact Minnesota's future. We've been so pleased to host five annual Un/Conferences equipping and connecting emerging Minnesota leaders; the “Our Minnesota” Cascading Conversations Tour; the Collaborative Competence Learning Labs Series focused on failure, imagination, story, and inquiry; multiple IDEA GENERATION events based on ProAction Cafe methodology; the LOCUS network for and by people of color and indigenous (POCI) leaders; a research project in the West Central region of the state entitled Greater Minnesota Rising; and so many more convenings and initiatives. We thank and celebrate with you, our network of 1000+ members and partners, for joining in this work of continuing to ask ourselves and our generation the critical questions that guide our actions individually and collectively. Cheers to 10 years more!

2019 ConnectUP! MN Summit

With 250 attendees, ConnectUP! MN Summit is the premier ecosystem event in Minnesota that convenes investors, entrepreneurs from underestimated communities (womxn, people of color, LGBTQ+, etc.), and entrepreneur community stakeholders (philanthropists, incubators, etc.) and offers action-oriented content and collaborative networking to bridge the 180 degrees of separation between entrepreneurs from underestimated communities and local investors. ConnectUP! MN Summit also serves as connective tissue across the disjointed entrepreneur ecosystem (includes investors, banks/CDFIs, philanthropy, incubators, nonprofits, academia, faith institutions & entrepreneurs); and fill gaps highlighted in SISG’s State of the Work Report.
