You're Invited: Generation NOW Leadership Visit

Modeled after the InterCity Leadership Visit, the Generation Now Leadership Visit is a 3-day trip to Milwaukee for current and rising Minnesota young professional leaders. This is a great opportunity for emerging leaders and mid-career adults (around 25-40 years of age) who want to expand their leadership skills, both personally and professionally, through a hands-on learning program. The trip will introduce participants to a wide variety of innovative ideas, programs, and people in Milwaukee, and provide a unique cohort experience that will create a powerful catalyst for engaged action back home in Minnesota. Fill out the application form today and prepare to get on the bus!

Generation Now Leadership Visit
August 14 to 16, 2013

This trip will benefit anyone looking to expand their leadership skills, both personally and professionally, through a hands-on interactive program. The trip will introduce participants to innovative ideas, programs and initiatives, which may be adapted and replicated in our community; and will contribute to cross-sector relationships in the metro area and beyond. The shared experience of the trip will result in a more cohesive team working to tackle issues facing our region.

We will create an interactive and stimulating program that will foster networking, creative thinking and discussion among participants and community leaders. We will take the opportunity to see, experience, and explore as much of Milwaukee as possible through presentations by leaders and other sharp-minded thinkers from the nonprofit, public, and for-profit sectors who influence community decision-making and have a vested interest in community development.

After considerable research, we chose Milwaukee for our inaugural visit, as the community gives us the opportunity to explore such topics as attracting/retaining talent, intergenerational collaboration, and public/private partnerships. Milwaukee and Minneapolis-Saint Paul share many similarities that will allow us to learn from their successes and challenges.

The GNLV delegation will depart the Twin Cities at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 14 for the six hour luxury motorcoach ride to Milwaukee, WI. There will be opportunities for interactive discussions, informative materials and video presentations comparing Minneapolis-Saint Paul to Milwaukee during the bus ride. The delegation will depart Milwaukee at 1:00 p.m. for the return trip, arriving back to the Twin Cities at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday August 16.

The total trip fee is $1,250 per person. This fee includes all transportation, single hotel accommodations for two nights, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 evening receptions, all tours, presentations and all trip-related materials.

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis with the final deadline being July 1st. Complete the registration form and return to Wendy Helgeson at Whelgeson@citizensleague.org.
