[#mnrising Dispatch] April 2019

[#mnrising Dispatch] April 2019

In this spring season of re-birth, we see nourishing investments in our neighborhoods, soil, and people taking bloom. Students are preparing for graduation and the turn of seasons offers increasing daylight and new growth. To follow nature's course, consider applying for the FINNOVATION Fellowship, a nine-month program that supports early-stage impact entrepreneurs who have bold ideas for sustainable, systems-level change. Or testing out a new idea or partnership with a Humanities Innovation Lab grant. And to see up close and in depth our relationship with water in Minnesota, join a Nibi Walkalong the Red Lake River, Cannon River, or Pokegama Lake, as you feel called. Here's hoping that snow and rain give way to sunny days and that these April showers indeed bring May flowers!

This opportunity is about answering the question “What would we do if we had $2,000 and six months to try something new?” Minnesota Humanities Center is calling this a Lab to foster an exploratory environment in which you don’t have to have it all figured out. The purpose of the new, two-dimensional mural is to infuse the space with a sense of joy, energize all who enter, evoke the idea of movement, and simply inspire. Any artist is welcome to submit a proposal. Preference will be given to artists with a connection to Minnesota. [Read more.]
