Accepting Applications: Intermedia Arts Summer Arts Institutes for Teens

School's out for the summer and it's time to get creative! Link the artistic and imaginative teens in your life up with an opportunity to participate in one of three Intermedia Arts Summer Art Institutes. See below for more on the graffiti, hip hop, and film institutes, and to register for a seat in a different kind of summer school!



SUMMER ARTS INSTITUTES FOR TEENS!
July 14-30, 2015 | 9:30AM - 4PM
Grades 7-12

Experience three weeks of in-depth, hands-on art making in graffiti, hip-hop, and filmmaking. Learn creative arts practices from experienced and renowned artists and explore how you can use your art to create positive social change. Register for one, two, or all three weeks!

Summer Graffiti Institute 
July 14–17, 2015 | Tuesday-Friday | 9:30AM-4PM
Immerse yourself in the history, style, and culture of this unique art form with renowned graffiti artistsJoJo of Murals by EROS and PEYTON of House of Daskarone
FINAL SHOWCASE
July 17, 2015 | Friday | 3PM | Intermedia Arts' Parking Lot
Teen artists use the skills they've learned from award-winning artists Jojo and Peyton to create masterpieces in our parking lot. Stop by at 3PM to see how Art Changes Everything.

Summer Hip Hop Institute 
July 20-23, 2015 | Monday-Thursday | 9:30AM-4PM
Led by local hip hop artists Desdamona and Carnage with special guests Medium Zach, Bryce Davidson, and DJ Kool Akiem, this week will explore the elements of hip hop: dance, MCing, beatboxing, DJing, and visual art.
FINAL SHOWCASE
July 23, 2015 | Thursday | 3PM | Intermedia Arts' Theater

A beat-boxing, head-spinning, DJing, spray-can-wielding final performance of the Hip Hop Institute participants. Taught by local artists Desdamona, Carnage the Executioner, and more, these teens will blow you away with their skills.

Summer Film Institute  
July 27-30, 2015 | Monday-Thursday | 9:30AM-4PM
Learn how to write, shoot, and direct a film in one week!  Taught by experienced filmmakers and artists Michael D. Hay and Missy Whiteman.
FINAL SHOWCASE
July 30, 2015 | Thursday | 3PM

Check out powerful media work created by teens. Taught by Missy Whiteman and  Michael Hay, these teens show off how they use high-level filmmaking techniques to share important messages.
