Accepting Applications: Nominations for the Engaged Philanthropist Award

Social Venture Partners Minnesota is accepting nominations for its third annual Engaged Philanthropist Award and is looking for your help to identify the most innovative and effective changemakers you know! If you consider it part of your civic and leadership duties to help surface and support other community leaders, here's your chance to write a glowing and thoughtful recommendation on behalf of someone whose work you appreciate. Nominations are due by May 18th and you can find more details after the jump!

Now Accepting Nominations for
the Engaged Philanthropist Award

The Engaged Philanthropy Award launched in 2010 to recognize Minnesota's most innovative and effective engaged philanthropists and to promote philanthropy in Minnesota.

Nomination & Selection Process - Nominations Due May 18
Social Venture Partners Minnesota and Minnesota Community Foundation seeks nominations from anyone who knows an engaged philanthropist that deserves to be recognized. An engaged philanthropist is anyone who gives of their time, talents, and money for the betterment of our community. You can read about past winners Win Wallin and John Larsen here.

A panel of judges with broad and deep experience in philanthropy and community service will select the winner from among the nominees.

The winner will be notified by the week of June 25, 2012 and receive their award at the August 23, 2012 EPCON: The Engaged Philanthropy Conference.

None of the information contained in the nomination form will be released to anyone other than the judge and staff of Social Venture Partners Minnesota and Minnesota Community Foundation, and the judges without the express permission of the nominee.

Past Winners
2011: John Larsen
An original funder and the visionary behind Project 515, which ensures that same-sex couples and their families have equal rights and protections under Minnesota law, Larsen also serves as a trustee of the John Larsen Foundation.
2010: Win Wallin
Former Medtronic CEO Wallin was also founder of the Wallin Education Partners, which has funded more than $26 million in scholarships through more than 3,000 college scholarships.
